Ever since seeing the Joan Brown exhibit in San Jose last year, I’ve been interested in self portraiture. It’s got a lot of advantages:

  • The model doesn’t charge by the hour.
  • She’s always around.
  • I know what she looks like.
  • Most important: I only have to please myself. Not somebody’s mother, father, aunt, uncle, husband, wife, children, grandchildren, etc., etc.

I was inexplicably amused by the Grasshopper I had for dessert recently at Stark’s Steakhouse in Santa Rosa. So I’ve turned the image into one more self-portrait. (Actually, it was that amazing shade of green that made the image irresistible!)
