I always had the vague fear that I would end up as the eccentric old lady living in the rickety house on the corner with her 75 cats. Since becoming a painter, I’ve stopped worrying since most of my cats live on canvases. The cat paintings often use imaginary color and bold brush strokes to communicate the elegance, mystery and vibrancy of these animals. Many of the paintings depict my own cats, past and present: Alfie, the tabby; Spike, the big bruiser of a black cat, and Oscar Wild, the graceful, athletic black cat (who is featured in Oscar’s Excellent Year.)
