100 Hands…And Feet…And Eyes…And…

My first (adult) art teacher, Gretchen, once told me: “You have to draw 100 hands, 100 feet, 100 eyes, 100 noses, 100 ears before you’ll be comfortable drawing figures.”

It’s taken some years, but I’ve learned to appreciate the value of practice in art. I doodled around with the idea this year. But now I’m seriously getting started. I’ve got a new sketchbook for the project. (Art is always a shopping opportunity.) I figure that’s 500 sketches. Check back with me in 2013…or 2014.
